Meet the Team

Catherine Bennett MCHA, RVN Clinical Director, Head Nurse

Catherine began her career as a student nurse in 2003 and qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) in 2007. She joined the Scott’s team in 2016, where she completed a Certificate in Small Animal Hydrotherapy and ran regular sessions in our hydrotherapy suite, alongside her duties as a veterinary nurse in our hospital.

Over the years, Catherine has progressed in her career – becoming our Deputy Head Nurse in 2019, Head Nurse in 2021, and most recently stepping into the role of Clinical Director in 2025. She loves the variety her role at Scott Vets offers, from leading our incredible nursing team to caring for our wonderful patients. Catherine has a particular interest in diagnostic procedures and enjoys working in our diagnostics theatre. She also enjoys meeting the Scott Vets clients and their pets during nursing consultations.

Rebecca Louise Gilbert MA VetMB PgCertVBM OV MRCVS

Helen worked at a practice in Buckinghamshire for many years then moved to work closer to home with Scott’s in July 2019. When not at work, Helen enjoys walking her Border Terrier and occasionally makes it to the Bedford Park Run.

Joanna Hansen MA VetMB GPCert(EM&S) PgCertVPS CertAVP(SAM) MRCVS
RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Medicine

Jo graduated from Cambridge University in 2015 with degrees in pathology & veterinary medicine. She then worked in a local mixed practice until joining Scott’s in 2018.

Jo is particularly interested in canine & feline internal medicine and has achieved a certificate of Advanced Veterinary Practice in that area. She is recognised by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons as an Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Medicine.

Veterinary sustainability is also close to Jo’s heart and she enjoys heading up the Scott’s ‘Green group’.

Outside of work Jo enjoys baking, drinking tea, and running around after her two children.

Rory Scrace BA VetMB MRCVS

Rory graduated from Cambridge University in 2020 where he also spent an intercalation year studying zoology.

After spending a few placements learning at Scotts he was excited to begin working there as a vet. In his spare time he enjoys reading and watching movies, and he runs, although to say he enjoyed it would be exaggerating!

Demi Lenette-Dawson BVetMed MRCVS

Demi graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2022 and joined our veterinary team in the September of that year.

Beryl Ho MRCVS

I grew up in Hong Kong before moving to the UK to study music in 2013. I then studied Animal Science at the University of Nottingham before going on to study Veterinary Medicine at the University of Edinburgh and graduated in 2025.

Working in general practice allows me to experience all aspects of veterinary medicine but I have a particular interest in surgery, and also quite enjoy neurology and dermatology.

I like to spend my time outside of work caring for my senior rescue dog Eddie, keeping active with hiking, badminton, and pilates, and looking for new food places to try!

Erin Burnett BVMedSci BVM BVS MRCVS

I graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2024 and started my career on the South Devon coast in small animal practice before moving to Bedford.

I love getting to meet all of the lovely pets, and working as part of an incredible team who love and care about the patients as much as I do. Over my first couple of years as a vet I’ve found I enjoy working to help make really quite poorly pets better and have an interest in emergency work.

I am currently studying towards a postgraduate certificate in Emergency and Critical Care, which I am really enjoying so far! In my spare time when I’m not being kept on my toes by my mischievous cat, Pip, I like running, cycling and paddleboarding, expanding my book collection and travelling – I like using my skills in places where they’re needed when travelling, and so far I’ve spent time neutering stray animals in Cyprus and St Lucia.

A fun fact about me is that I am hearing impaired so I do know BSL – I love meeting clients who also know how to sign!

Gagandeep Kaur Rathour BVMSci MRCVS

Gagan graduated from the University of Surrey in 2025 and joined our team in January 2026. She grew up in North London but moved to Bedford when joining Scotts. Outside of work Gagan enjoys very nerdy hobbies such as D&D and video games! She also enjoys reading and playing guitar.

Sophie Wells MRCVS

Jessica Brown – Deputy Head Nurse RVN

Jess joined our team in June 2021 and officially became a registered veterinary nurse in October 2021. She enjoys Diagnostic theatre, investigating our patients surgical or medical conditions using diagnostic equipment including our x-ray, endoscopy and ultrasound machines. She also has a particular interest in medical nursing and pain management.

At home, Jess is kept busy with her Leonburger Cookie, Pebbles and Lucy the Jack Russell’s and Solo the cat.

Terence Carroll Ncert (AnBeh) RVN

Terry is a Registered Veterinary Nurse. He joined Scott’s in 2007. He is our Scott Veterinary Clinic “Employee of the Year” 2011.
Terry enjoys many aspects of Veterinary Nursing. He particularly enjoys the lab work, nurse consultations and running our puppy parties.

Terry holds a Nurse Certificate in Animal Behaviour, accredited by the European School of Veterinary postgraduate studies.

Shelby Webster BSc(Hons) MSc MCHA –  Hydrotherapist and Physiotherapist

Shelby graduated with a BSc (Hons) degree in Veterinary Health and Behaviour in 2011. At the same time, she qualified with a Level 4 Canine Hydrotherapy Professional Award and has worked as a Hydrotherapist since. Shelby has experience working with the rehabilitation of a number of different musculoskeletal conditions, as well as building fitness and preventing injury of some top agility and cani-cross sporting dogs.

Shelby joined our team as a Hydrotherapist in January 2020 and has recently qualified with a MSc in Veterinary Physiotherapy and is enjoying building our Physiotherapy services here at Scotts. Shelby likes to further her knowledge and regularly undertakes new learning opportunities and recently became a Champion of Osteoarthritis with the Veterinary Osteoarthritis Alliance. 

Shelby has a background in Canine psychology and behaviour, she believes this allows her to assess each animal and work with them as an individual, helping them to best achieve their goals both within their rehabilitation sessions and at home. Shelby loves working with dogs of all ages and breeds and has a particular love of sighthounds.

Sophia Furniss-DuBignon. – BSc (Hons) CertVNECC RVN

Sophia graduated from Middlesex University in June 2021 after gaining a position at Scotts in the May. She grew up with many pets including dogs, rabbits, hamsters and gerbils and has always had a passion for their care.

Sophia enjoys all aspects of nursing, specifically nutrition, medical nursing and emergency/critical care. 

Sophia is our ‘Cat Friendly’ advocate here at Scott’s which means she ensures all of our feline patients are stress free, relaxed and enjoying their visit. She has two cats of her own, Winnie and Dragon, and in her free time loves finding new enrichment activities for them. From embracing their natural hunting instincts through play, to teaching them new tricks such as sit and paw!

Emily Bradsell – RVN

Emily joined the Scotts team in March 2023, as a qualified RVN. Whilst she enjoys all aspects of nursing, she has particular interests in nursing consults and rabbit nursing.

Lucy Hancock RVN

I qualified in 2021 as a Veterinary Nurse when I graduated from Nottingham Trent University after completing my FdSc in Veterinary Nursing. I then went on to complete a BSc top-up in Veterinary Nursing at Harper Adams which I graduated in 2022.

I adore all aspects of my job as it is such a rewarding job to have. I love learning new skills and knowledge to better my nursing in order to provide the best care for every patient. I am originally from North Lincolnshire where I have lived most my life before briefly moving to work in Nottinghamshire for a couple of years. Since then I have moved to Bedfordshire and joined Scott Vets in January 2025. Outside of work I enjoy ice skating, exploring a variety of different places and going on long walks with my partner Dan. 

Penny Attenborough – Student Veterinary Nurse

Penny joined Scott’s in May 2021 as a Prep Room Assistant. She’s always wanted to work with animals so went to college and studied level three animal management. Penny has grown up with a variety of different animals all her life.

She currently has a Westie and two black Labradors as well as two cats. She enjoys all aspects of her job as it has such a wide range!

Mairead graduated from university in 2016 where she gained her BSc (Hons) Applied Animal Science degree. She started her career in the veterinary industry as a Veterinary Care Assistant and graduated as an RVN in April 2025. Mairead joined Scotts in March 2023. Her favourite aspects of the job are patient care and lab work.

When Mairead isn’t at work she enjoys getting out and about with her two little doggies Bodhi and Bonnie, who love hiking, trips to the beach and long walks.

Jordan Oliver – RVN

Jordan joined our nursing team in 2023 as a student veterinary nurse and graduated as an RVN in February 2024.

Lucy Arnett Student Veterinary Nurse

Lucy joined our nursing team in May 2023 as a pre-room assistant and began her veterinary nurse training in January 2024.

Bethan Upton – Student Veterinary Nurse

Bethan joined our nursing team in August 2023 as a prep-room assistant and she began her veterinary nurse training in September 2024.

Kayleigh Murray Student Veterinary Nurse

Kayleigh joined our team in June 2024 and has a particular interest in inpatient care and nutrition. She hopes to develop these skills and knowledge in the future.

Kayleigh loves spending time with her labrador Oscar who is 13 year old and who has been her best friend since she was 9!

Chloe Hewitt-Dell Prep-room Assistant

Chloe joined our reception team in 2022 and has always wanted to work with animals. She completed her animal management and husbandry course in 2021 and embraced an opportunity to move from our reception team to the nursing team, to begin her veterinary nurse training journey, in 2024. She has two cats Missey (who is 19!) and Tyler and her lovely German Shepherd Cassie.

Bea Cooper RVN

Bea joined Scotts in February 2025 after qualifying as a RVN in June 2024. She wanted to experience working in a hospital environment and dealing with more complex medical cases. She has a particular interest in anaesthesia and critical care and hopes to complete a certificate in anaesthesia in the near future.

In her spare time, Bea is running around after her two young children and enjoys vegan cooking. She recently lost her senior Jack Russell, Poppy, but hopes to open her heart to a new furry friend sometime soon.

Sarah Green RVN

Sarah joined our team in March 2025

Ashley Parker RVN SQP

Ashley qualified as an RVN and SQP in May 2025 and joined our team in the June. She is excited to expand her skills and knowledge in medical nursing and client education.

She is also excited to explore all aspect of nursing. Ashley also has a degree in photography and is keen to explore how she can utilise these skills as an RVN.

Kerri Bannan
Finance & Facilities Manager
Kerri joined the team in July 2018. She is AAT qualified with previous senior management roles in finance. Kerri previously worked 16 years for the John Lewis Partnership and more recently PayPoint.

Kerri has always wanted to work with animals and has a diabetic cat named Jessie.

Chloe Feltwell
Accounts Administrator
Chloe joined Scott’s in 2004. She is responsible for all of Scott’s accounts administration.

Chloe also helps clients with invoicing and insurance queries and organises our vet home visits for small and exotic pets.

Hannah Colborne CertVNES, VPAC, RVN
Practice Administrator
Hannah joined the practice as an RVN in 2009. With a keen interest in exotics, she went on to achieve her certificate in Veterinary Nursing of Exotic Species and became a Clinical Coach.
In 2018 Hannah completed the Veterinary Practice Administration Certificate and is now our Practice Administrator. Outside of work Hannah enjoys spending time with her family and walking her dachshunds.

Helen Berridge
Stock & Insurance Administrator
Helen joined the practice in 1999 as a student veterinary nurse and qualified as a VN in 2001 and was our Scott Veterinary Clinic “Employee of the Year” 2012.
Helen is responsible for maintaining practice stock and supplies and for the administration of insurance claims and enquiries. She has a Labrador called Snoopy..

Zara Smith
Practice Administration Assistant
Zara joined the practice in October 2010 and spent her first 10 years with us as a Receptionist. She has recently taken on the role of Practice Administration Assistant supporting the management team and helping to administer our “Scotts For Life” pet health plan.
Outside of work, Zara enjoys long countryside walks, going to the gym and swimming.

Lesley Curtis
Veterinary Reception Manager
Lesley joined us in October 2015 after 30 years in the finance industry. She is our ‘Employee of the Year 2018’ and ‘Practice Wellbeing Star 2018’.
She lives locally with her husband and two very spoilt dogs! They love long walks in the countryside and on the beach.

Fiona Turnbull
Fiona joined us in December 2018 having previously worked in the equine related field. She owns a cheeky pony called Dolly whom she rides regularly.
Fiona enjoys meeting all the clients and pets that come into our Sharnbrook branch.

Fiona has a Springer Spaniel called Cub. He’s black and white and adores water and running flat out a lot!

Karen Wild
Karen joined our reception team in April 2019 having previously worked in banking and with the NHS. She loves animals, particularly cats. Whilst in Singapore for 3 years, Karen volunteered in a cat sanctuary.

Karen enjoys reading and long country walks.

Sam joined our reception team in March 2022.

Olivia Jackson Receptionist

My name is Olivia and I’m a receptionist at Scotts, joining the team in April 2025, after years of working for Jollyes. I have a Weimaraner called Nova and spend a lot of my free time with my friends and family. It’s an honour to work with animals; something I have always been passionate about!

Kiera Bryan Receptionist BA (Hons) Law LLM Masters Law (Pending)

Kiera joined Scotts in April 2025.

My time outside of my law degree is dominated by the equine and farming community and I have always desired to work within a sector that I am extremely passionate about. I have worked with, raised and looked after a huge range of animals and livestock for as long as I can remember. I have also, for many years, been the secretary for the Thrapston Young Farmers Association and have competed and won awards for public speaking and livestock judging, recently winning a first place award in judging breeding ewes.

I have completed my law degree, with a particular interest in animal welfare, human rights and criminal law of which I hope to carry this knowledge throughout my working life.

As well as horses, I raise and own chickens including rare breeds and own both cats and dogs. My love for animals means I can come to work every day with a smile on my face, loving every minute of what I do.

Noelle O’Sullivan Receptionist

Hello, my name is Noelle. I studied Animal Management Level 3 at Moulton College which helped me pursue a career in the veterinary industry. I am a huge animal enthusiast, especially dogs.

I own an English bulldog, 2 cats, a bearded dragon and a Leopard Gecko. In my free time I enjoy walking my dog, Axel. I also enjoy reading.

Skye Hamilton Receptionist

I joined Scotts in November 2025. I have a passion for working with animals and would like to become a Veterinary Nurse.

I have 2 beautiful cats called Abi & Misty that I love and enjoy caring for.

Jana joined our reception team in May 2026 and is currently completing an Animal Care course at Shuttleworth College.
